The Bolts Brief ⚡ Week of May 24

Hello Bolt Families,

What a great start to the season! We loved seeing our swimmers race, cheer each other on, and kick off summer swim together at our first meet. Thank you to all of our volunteers and families who helped make the night such a success!

We’ll take Memorial Day off before diving into a busy and exciting week ahead. Regular season with morning practices begin Tuesday, our first home meet after-party is Thursday, and Guppy season officially begins.

Please read through everything below for important updates and reminders for the week ahead.

BOLT NEWS
Team Skate Day @ Roller Sports (Ages 10 & Under)
Wednesday, May 27 | 3:30–5:30 PM

Join your fellow Bolts for an afternoon of skating, music, games, and fun! We’re swapping practice for a team skate day and can’t wait to spend time together off the pool deck.

Siblings are welcome to attend.

This is not a drop-off event. All swimmers must have a parent/chaperone present during the event.

Cost:

  • $5 cash per skater at the door
  • Bring additional cash for concessions

Home Meet After Party
Following Thursday’s home meet, we’d love for swimmers and families to stay for pizza, cake, swimming, and fun together at the pool!

Before the celebration begins, we’ll need all hands on deck for post-meet cleanup and resetting the pool. Once cleanup is complete, swimmers will be allowed back in the water and the party can begin.

If you’d like to pre-order pizza, RSVP in SwimTopia (here) and include:

  • Quantity
  • Cheese or pepperoni preference

Pizza Pricing:

  • Cheese Pizza: $14
  • Pepperoni Pizza: $16

Payment can be made Thursday night via Venmo (@bolts26).

Golf Tournament Reschedule
We were disappointed to cancel the inaugural Bolts & Birdies Classic due to rainy weather this weekend. Our organizers are already working on new dates and hope to get things back “on course” soon. Stay tuned, golfers!

Make sure you’ve downloaded SwimTopia Mobile and enabled notifications. This is how we’ll communicate weather delays and important updates.

You can also view your swimmer’s planned meet events for the week directly in the app before heat sheets are released.

Team Suits, Caps, and Shirts
We still have team gear waiting to be picked up! Items will be available on the pool deck during practices this week.

COACHES CORNER
Our new Swimmer of the Week page is now live on the website here (must be logged in). Each week, our coaches will recognize swimmers who demonstrate great effort, sportsmanship, attitude, and improvement in and out of the pool. Congratulations to this week’s swimmers: Oliver Cole, Corsyn Fuerst, Rebecca Hedrick, and Jack Sedlak.

VOLUNTEERS
We still have unfilled volunteer spots for Thursday’s meet. Please sign up as soon as possible if you have not already done so.

As a reminder, each family is expected to:

  • Volunteer at meets their swimmer attends
  • Assist with cleanup after home meets
  • Support additional team needs throughout the season as needed

Swim meets simply cannot happen without volunteer support. Thank you for continuing to jump in and help make the season successful for our swimmers!

GUPPY CORNER
Guppy practices officially begin Tuesday, May 26! Families should have received a welcome email with all season details. We can’t wait to welcome our youngest Bolts to the pool!
