Everything you want to know about Divisionals

Divisionals

We get to host the heck out of a few hundred people this weekend. Who is ready?!

If you haven’t been to Divisionals, let me tell you the good news first. Since it’s at our place, we get prime golf cart parking. Any cart overflow will kindly be parked across the street thanks to the Lawrence’s hospitality.

Why does cart parking matter, you ask? Well… our pool bathrooms can’t manage hundreds of people and two stalls - or whatever else is in the boy’s bathroom - so we have rented the nicest port-a-potties these teams have ever seen. But, let’s face it, they are still port-a-potties. So being a ride away from your own bathroom is really delightful.

Wait! - you say - this weekend isn’t about potty access or golf carts or the fact that your cars need to be parked at the church or on the street (see how I snuck that part in there?) - it’s about food! Debbie and crew are going to actually feed the number of people that are showing up for this shin-dig. Not like some meets we’ve traveled to, when the food ran out and our kids subsisted entirely on sugar for 45 events. Real actual food! So get ready to enjoy some of Seth’s grilling Friday night and CFA biscuits Saturday morning.

It’s not about potties, parking, food, oh my? Ok fine. The meet is the culmination of a season of swimming. Our Bolts will take on every swimmer in our division in one big meet (thank heavens it’s now broken into two days). To prep for the best results, our swimmers need to have a good night’s sleep and lots of water. If you have those cold towels, that’s cool too. (Get it?) If it means they have to go to bed early and not TP my house, I think it’s worth the sacrifice, don’t you?

The swimmers will be hanging in their usual spot on the deep end side of the fence. You don’t have to bring Bolt Buddies gifts this meet, but hang on to that sportsmanship spirit. We love some loud cheers for our people by our people.

Here’s the schedule for both meets:

  • 5:30pm - Meet start

Rising up, Bolts on the street -
