July 5th

Divisionals week events & All Swimmer Banquet

You guys, pirate talk be tougher than a barnacle on a ship’s butt. I don’t know how Johnny Depp did it for all those years. Me thinks regular talk is easier. 🏴☠️ 

If you haven’t been privy to our ways, scalawags come out at night with one-ply during this week. The rules aren’t many but historically adhered to by the lot. Be on watch if your yard has a Bolts sign, as it is the beacon to all things TP. When the signs are gone, the game is up. No going rogue to other’s yards without a sign. And beware porch sitters… they sometimes arm themselves to defend their yards. Dressed in black to avoid detection? Just don’t get hit by a car or break a leg in pursuit of the perfect tree toss. We need you swimming. 🧻 

Event details, as promised! I know it’s a lot but pretty please read it all.

Wednesday, July 6th

  • 🕵️♀️ Scavenger Hunt 7:00 (read carefully and be on time if you want a chance to win)
    • Between now and Wed night, make a team and pick a team name. No rules on how many swimmers to a team but you’ll have to travel together so choose wisely.
    • If you have a team and not a cart, let me know.
    • If you don’t have a team or a cart, send me back a note.
    • Each team will need transportation to find clues around the neighborhood.
    • If you have a cart and are willing to drive a team without one, let me know!
  • 🏴☠️ Pirate Pool Party 8-10 PM
    • We will have a Pirate Relay Race. Like last year, teams will be announced at the pool (this is why it is important you RSVP today, otherwise we cannot guarantee your child a spot on a relay team).
    • It’s going to be another strategy race… We decided to give you a few clues about the race:
      • Blocks = Shipwreck
      • Shallow End Pool Deck = Shore

Relay Race Rules

  1. Team of 4: a captain and 3 sailors
  2. Captain must get the treasure from the shipwreck to shore by water.
  3. The Captain must save all 3 sailors at shipwreck. Sailors MUST use a life preserver to be declared saved.
  4. Once the treasure, captain, sailors, and life preservers are all on the shore, the relay is completed.
  5. Each 'heat' relay winner will advance to the Final Relay. Rules will not be announced for the final relay until Wed night.

Thursday, July 7th

  • 🧁 Muffins @ AM Practice
  • 🍝 Pasta Pump 6:00 @ Edwards Road Baptist Church Gym
    • Pasta, Salad, Bread, and Dessert will be served (catered, you’re welcome)
    • Divisional Swimmers will receive their Divisionals Gift. You’re gonna want this one.🎁 
  • 🎳 HIGH SCHOOLERS ONLY: Bowling @ Spare Time Greenville 9:00 - 11:00

Friday, July 8th

  • 🎥 Minions: The Rise of Gru @ 10:45 @ Camelot Cinemas
    • Bring $ for Concessions 🍿 
    • We have rented the theater, so feel free to bring siblings and your chaperone! I’m not acting as Tent Parent. No matter how cute your kids are. 👩👧👦
  • 11 & Up Divisionals Meet @ Botany Woods Pool
    • Swimmers Arrive @ 3:35p/Warm ups: 3:50p
    • Dress in your Pirate Gear ready for the Divisionals Parade 🏴☠️ 

Saturday, July 9th

  • 10 & Under Divisionals Meet @ Botany Woods Pool
    • Swimmers Arrive @ 7:45am/ Warm ups: 8:30am
    • Dress in your Pirate Gear ready for the Divisionals Parade 🏴☠️ 

Sunday, July 10th

  • Swim Team Banquet (ALL SWIMMERS including Guppies) @ 6:00 @ BW Pool Shelter
    • Tropical Grille will be served for dinner for all swimmers and their families. 🐓 
    • Following dinner, we will have our swimmer awards ceremony. 🏆 
  • Championships and Classics Swimmers
    • The results from all of the Divisional Meets are combined as if it was one meet to identify the fastest 40 SAIL swimmers in each age group and event to compete individually in Classics (top 16 swimmers) and Championships (next fastest 24 swimmers).
    • Swimmers will be notified at their HOME by the Coaches after the Banquet. We do not determine when we receive the master list of qualified swimmers, but we will have coaches will arrive as soon as they can.
    • All swimmers who made C&C will receive communication Sunday night from Brooke Teague on the week's practice schedule, activities, etc.


And we did it!! 🙌 I made it through the season with only forgetting to declare my swimmer one time. I call that a win. What about you guys?
